Double Dip: Get certified by both the PMI and the Scrum Alliance (CSPO + PMI-ACP)
A compelling reason to take your ACP training from us is that our courses are taught, or co-taught, by both a CST and a PMI R.E.P, so as a part of your PMI-ACP coursework you can integrate a Scrum alliance certification as a CSPO or CSM. There is a very important reason for you to do this. There is a substantial amount of mistrust between the agile community and the PMI community. PMI advocates tend to see agile advocates as undisciplined. Agile advocates tend to see PMI advocates as bureaucratic bottlenecks obsessed with command and control. I have heard a prominent individual in the agile community refer to the PMI-ACP as lipstick on a pig. Therefore if a person wishes to have credibility in the Scrum community and with their fellow Scrum team members, he or she should have a Scrum Alliance certification. On the other hand, senior managers in the organization tend to place a great deal of weight on PMI certifications. The solution is easy. Take your PMI-ACP training from us and get both certificates.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
The only way to become a Certified ScrumMaster is to take a course from a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and then take a test from the Scrum Alliance. Our 2-day Certified ScrumMaster course is targeted to individuals who wish to become ScrumMasters for a Scrum team, but is appropriate for any potential member of a Scrum team or anyone needing to understand Scrum so that they can successfully interact with a Scrum team.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
The only way to become a Certified Scrum Product Owner(CSPO) is to take a course from a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and then take a test from the Scrum Alliance. Our 2-day Certified Product Owner course is targeted to individuals who wish to become Product Owners for a scrum team, but is appropriate for any potential member of a Scrum team who will be focusing on the business side of Scrum or anyone needing to understand Scrum so that they can successfully interact with a Scrum team. Individuals coming from a business analysis, system testing, or product management background may wish to take the CSPO instead of the CSM certification.
PMI Certified Scrum Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
In addition to the experience requirements outlined on the PMI website, The PMI-ACP requires 21 hours of agile course instruction (PDUs). As a registered Education Provider for the PMI, QualSys Solutions provides the courses needed to prepare you for the PMI-ACP exam. The PMI-ACP is, of course, the appropriate certification for a PMP or any project manager wishing to work in an agile environment. The PMI-ACP is however designed for anyone working in a Scrum environment. We can offer the ACP prep course in 3 different flavors.
1. PMI-ACP for project managers
2. PMI-ACP for business analysts
3. PMI-ACP for QA and test professionals
Given the introduction of the PMI-ACP, we now recommend that testers wanting to keep their careers up-to-date take our 3 day sequence to get certified by the Scrum Alliance as a CSPO and by the PMI as an Agile Certified Practitioner. In addition to gaining these 2 certifications, we recommend that testers also take our course: The Art of Discplined Exploratory Testing.
